SBHS Reviews Communication Procedures & Evaluates Resources

San Benito High School campus and law enforcement officials recently dealt with an incident, which remained under investigation prior to the start of the school day. Although there was no reason to believe that there was any immediate danger, district and campus leaders began the school day with soft lockdown procedures in place and with extra police presence as a precautionary measure.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of our school district police department and local agencies, the matter was resolved just prior to the start of classes, with the soft lockdown lifted and classes continuing as scheduled.

"The safety of your children and all persons here is of paramount importance," said Principal Henry Sanchez who explained that he and his staff are reviewing communication protocols and resources that will help them communicate with parents.

The school, like others in the district, have resources such as the automated phone messaging system, School Messenger, social media accounts, and the school marquee to keep parents informed about events and other important happenings.

The SBHS administration and staff are committed to maintaining a safe school environment that is conducive to teaching and learning and pledge to continue being vigilant and keeping SBHS a safe campus.

Campus leaders encourage parents to contact the school's administrative offices at (956) 361-6500 to receive help with questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Mr. Henry Sanchez, Principal
