San Benito NJROTC Liberty Hounds Teams Qualify For State

On the 2ND of December at Southwest High School in San Antonio the NJROTC teams composed of Unarmed, Armed, Color Guard, Physical Fitness, and the Academics qualified for Area 10 state drill competition. This is the second year in a row for the NJROTC unit.  With the cadets spending more than 6 hours every week after school since August, they were able to achieve their goal. Area 10 covers Dallas to Los Fresno and Laredo to Beaumont.  The teams felt accomplished as they practiced the routine over numerously and giving every drop of sweat that was worth it at the end.  Not only did the drill team members feel proud but everyone as a unit, as we all gave in our part. They will compete for 1 of the 2 spots for nationals on the 23rd and 24th of February at Texas A&M University in Houston TX.  As they continue to practice and have the unit to cheer them on, they have the ambition to get the spot.  The cadets are very proud not only to show case the NJROTC teams hard work but also to represent the San Benito community.  The unit would like to thank the parents, the school district, and to all the cadets who dedicate their time to stay and practice for this event
