New Law - ECG

The UIL and the Texas State Legislature have passed a new law (H.B. No. 76) that will change the form for the Pre Participation Physical Evaluation-Medical History part of the physical form.  After all the questions there is an option for parents/guardians to be able to obtain an ECG for your student for additional cardiac screening. Please note that, “it is the responsibility of my family to schedule and pay for such ECG.”  If the parent/guardian checks yes. The student will not be prohibited from participation until the ECG screen is conducted UNLESS the medical professional conducting the physical examination indicates that the student is prohibited.  As long as the student is cleared for participation by the medical professional conducting the physical, the student may participate.
