School is a place where children deserve to learn free from fear. The responsibility of keeping our schools safe belongs to everyone. In these times of heightened awareness, schools, students, parents, staff and community must remain ever vigilant in our efforts. Please know that our priority is to provide a safe learning environment for all students. Recently, we have experienced a number of threats made in our schools and we are highly concerned. Today we would like to talk about what we can all do to guarantee your safety in school.
When students make any type of threat, we take this seriously. Any threat made against anyone of our schools, even those made as a joke, will have severe repercussions, including potential criminal charges and a possible recommendation for expulsion from school.
It is important you are careful and think through what you post, say, and write regarding threats against our schools. In addition, if you have knowledge of someone making any type of threat against our schools we ask that you come forward so that all students are safe.
Working together we can and will assert you are safe. Your parents place their trust in us each and every day. Our greatest responsibility is to educate you in a safe environment where you can learn and grow. As a student it is your responsibility to assist with making your school safe. Today you are being asked to support this effort.

Good evening. We received a threat against the school late this afternoon. At this point we are actively investigating the threat and it's credibility. We will have extra officers tomorrow on our campus to assist with monitoring. We expect classes to run normally. As a reminder, the district's Police Department has a Campus Crime Watch phone number available to the public. Individuals are encouraged to report incidents, crimes, and other suspicious activity via an anonymous call or text to (956) 254-3664. Thank you.

Tendremos oficiales adicionales mañana en nuestro campus para ayudar con el monitoreo. Esperamos que las clases se ejecuten normalmente. On Thursday, school officials learned of a vague threat at San Benito High School and began conducting an investigation.
